Becoming Lady Thomas by K. Webster

3.5 stars

K. Webster is arguably one of the most controversial authors of our time. One of her books has been banned from Amazon for its taboo content. We are not going to go into that because I need my sanity.

So… because I am super curious and I don’t believe in moral or immoral books. I don’t believe in banning books at all. I think people have a choice and they can opt to read or not to read books. To take that choice is restricting freedom and knowledge. So because although I am super curious, I am also a chickenshit. I did not want to dive into the deep end, but start at the shallow end and wade in slowly. So… Becoming Lady Thomas is my first indoctrination to K. Webster.

K. Webster’s books, I think, is purely categorized as erotica. You don’t expect to open her books and expect them to be tame or devoid of sex. You are going to be sorely disappointed. This book is no exemption. It has lots of steamy scenes. The actual sex did not happen until 2/3 of the book, but it didn’t take away from the hotness of it.

So if you want to ask why I would give this a 3.5 stars, I want to assure you that I am not a prude. I love erotica. I love sex scenes. I think it is one of the must haves in a romance book because romance without hot sex is just blah. I gave this a 3.5 stars because of the inconsistencies in the book. I wasn’t sure if this is supposed to be a historical romance or not. One would think it is because of the references to corsets and such. But then, the sister went to the university, which is inconsistent for the time period. It just took away from the story for me because I am nuts about details like that. Sorry, not sorry.

Anyway! If you are looking for a steamy read, this book is the one for you. I am excited to read the other two books in the series and can’t wait to read more from K. Webster.
