5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book has been on my most anticipated list for a LONG TIME. I have been waiting for this for about a year and it did NOT disappoint! Jennifer Armentrout is one of the most versatile authors I have ever seen. She can write anything from contemporary romance to young adult to paranormal.

The King is the continuation of the story from her other book, The Prince, that is part of the Wicked world. Reading the Prince is a must to understand the dynamics between the main characters. The Prince ended in a bombshell cliffhanger that made any chance of a relationship between Brighton and Caden quite impossible. The King delves more into the reasons why their love was doomed from the start as we follow Bri’s quest to exact revenge on the fae who killed her mother.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down! Ms. Armentrout’s ability to create characters that are so painfully human makes a reader connect with them. You can help but feel their insecurities, challenges and determination to survive. While I am bummed to wait for next book, The Queen, I know Jennifer will make it worth the wait.
